Army Friends= Family

When I got married to Michael and went to our first duty station I would always hear other Army families saying how much they truly loved one another and never really thought too much of it. Until now!! Michael has been gone now for close to two weeks and well it gets pretty lonely and boring. Back in April I was introduced to a very sweet yet shy Army wife. It may have taken us awhile to really open up to one another but now I spend more time with her than anyone else!! We spend our days shopping, coupon clipping and having lunch together. I have come to really care for her and her beautiful family. So back to what I use to hear about how military families become family to one another, I can say how true this is. My family back in PA are very much a part of our life even being as far as they are but no relationship is like the one of a Military family. You share so much of the same well everything! It's hard for some of my family to understand that. I guess I'm just having a moment!!!

I want to say Thank you to all the Army wives that have been so kind to not only me but my family :)

3AM and NO Power!!!!

There I was sound asleep (that Never happens) just before 3am and the alarms go off and the smoke detectors just keep beeping so loud! Scared the crap out of me. I look over to hopefully get some comfort from my husband only to find out he is still out cold. Nice huh! Good thing it was just the power going out and nothing major. I had to use my cell phone light to make my way down the dark hallway to the kids room. At this point I'm scared. There I said it, I'm scared of the dark!! To my surprise both the kids are still fast asleep too. Long story short the power was off until early evening. Xavier had a two hour late start which threw my day off. Can I just say how much I hate late starts. I will say I was now forced to clean my entire house, only taking me a good two hours. So Sekota and I sat in bed staring at the ceiling trying to make it through the day or until the power came back on! After our trip to the golden arches we came back to POWER!!! How do people live without it???? I'm sure they have very clean and tidy houses for sure. I'm thankful that it did come back on but I have to say I had a great time without it playing and hanging out with the little bug :) I sometimes joke to Michael about living back in the days with no power, but he would never make it. By the first 20 minutes he'd be already trying to eat his face!! He kills me.

Happy Monday :)

Fall is Here!!

If you no me I'm not a person who enjoys any month past August BUT I'm trying to be a better sport about it this year. I do love to decorate for Fall :) It's my favorite time of the year to decorate my house! I must say this year my house looks very cute. No really it does. Michael even gave me a compliment on it!

We're taking the kiddos to the pumpkin patch in the am. I think we're more excited about going than they are!! And who can forget Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks! So so good! If you haven't tried them you must!!

Happy Fall :)

Seven

Seven LONG years ago I married a guy I hardly knew. No really we got engaged 2 weeks after we first saw each other! I guess it was love at first sight OR we both just needed dates to our wedding. These last few years have been filed with long deployments, 1 long hospital stay with Xavier, our 2nd son Sawyer passing away, a surprise pregnancy (Sekota), and a  ton of new homes. But not matter what, we went through it as a team. Michael was always and is always my rock and even in the hardest of times he somehow makes everything better. Some of the things we went through most couples won't go through in a lifetime of marriage. I feel so blessed to have him in my life and I'm so proud of all he's done not only for our family but for our country. Thanks Michael for a wonderful seven years and here's to many many more wonderful years to come :)

Long Days and Lonely Nights

Let the training begin. Today/tonight is just one of many that will be spent alone with just the kids and I. Mike hasn't left yet (not until October for YTC) but he has crazy dumb hours leading up to their training schedule. I try not to ever complain around other wives because we all know how much it sucks, the training and of course the dreadful D word. Deployment......yuck.

Anyway back to my day, it was overall a good day. Went to Starbucks with a girlfriend then did our walk.  Came home after picking Xavier up from school to realize YAY we had 2 hrs of ABA I forgot about. That makes for such a long evening. Made a good dinner that no one else ate but me alone. Story of my life! I keep telling Mike that if we got paid over time, we would be RICH!!! But instead we are rich with love. I often daydream of Mike having a 9-5 and getting to eat dinner every night as a family. I don't feel like I'm asking much cause gosh knows I never get it anyway. It's the small things that I miss so much from my childhood that I really wish we could do as a family. Duty calls. Any who just needed to vent I guess if that's what you wanna call it???

First Day

Today was the day! I'm so happy to say that Xavier had a an awesome first day :) that's my baby!! Michael was able to take the morning off to go along with us to drop him off. He was so excited when we got into his room. Mike got a high five and I got a kiss!! He even kept his glasses and shoes on ALL day! If you know Xavier that is always a struggle. I'm just so proud of him.

I gotta say as much as I did miss him and always thought to myself what's he doing now like 500x during the day, I had a great day with Sekota! I finally was able to meet up with a friend and go on a long walk. It felt great and there is no guilt :) So everyone won today, and I'm sure he's already to go back!!

He was getting tired of the waiting!!!!

Happy 1st Day of School :)))))

6 yrs of wonderful

Tonight was open house for Xavier and I went with a smile on my face and left with tears in my eyes :( I just can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that my little baby will be in school ALL day long. Although we had a great meeting with his teacher and I'm very excited for him to take this next step it's still a very hard pill to swallow. I feel like I'm choking on it to be quite honest with you.

As we're having the meeting she said well I'm sure he's gonna do great come TUESDAY! That right there is a red flag. His class wasn't suppose to start until the 8th, so I still had plenty of time to cry and feel bad for myself. Now he goes to school in like 5 minutes!!! I can't breathe!!! Hold Please....................................................................................................................................................................................................

being a parent IS not for the weak!! I know I'm a baby, well this is my blog and I'll cry if I want to......tear tear.  At one point in the meeting I so bad wanted to throw in there "oh yeah BTW if anyone hurts my baby or does anything I'll kill you"! Too much??? Listen I know as parents we all have those feelings of protection for our young but man it seems so hard to send my little guy off to school that is still nonverbal. I have to just pray and know that when I can't be around to protect him that God is always with him. That definitely helps me but still wish I could be a fly on the wall.

So to sum this all up these past 6 yrs with my baby have been the best. I was never ever in a hurry to see him go to school or ever get older than 3 but such is life. So come Tuesday I'll have my tissues, chocolate, and yes potato chips and I'm throwing one heck of a pity party.
